Nepal earthquake sparks two aftershocks Thursday morning

At least two aftershocks have been recorded in Nepal with epicenter in Nuwakot on Thursday morning.

The earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred around 03:41 am which was well felt in capital Kathmandu. Another earthquake with magnitude 4.0 hit the same epicenter Nuwakot around 07:56 am, The Nepal Seismological Center reported.

The number of aftershocks have gone decreasing since the magnitude 7.9 earthquake on April 25 with epicenter in Gorkha. Yesterday, at least three aftershocks with magnitude greater than 4.0 were recorded in Nepal.

The death toll from earthquake and aftershocks in Nepal has risen to 7,759. According to the Home Ministry, at least 16,432 people have been injured, as per the update posted on Thursday morning.
