Flood prompts emergency in Bulgarian town of Mezdra

A state of emergency has been declared following the torrential rainfalls and floods in the northwestern Bulgarian town of Mezdra.

The trains between Mezdra and the village of Ruska Byala were temporarily suspended, Sofia News Agency reported.

The overflown river Iskar has caused evacuation in Vodenets.

Floods had temporarily closed the international road E-79 between Mezdra and Vratsa as well as in the section near Lyuti Dol.
