Moderate earthquake shakes Kathmandu, Nepal

M 4.6 moderate earthquake in China shakes Kathmandu today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 150km NE of Kathmandu, Nepal. It was 39.2 miles deep.

Tremor was well felt in Kodari, Bhaktapur, Banepa, Panauti, Patan and Kathmandu region of Nepal.

One of our visitor from Kapan said: "It was enough to shook her for 3-5 seconds." Another from Kavre mentioned: "It was well felt as even some people rushed out of their houses."

No damage or injuries have been reported so far.

Kathmandu lies in one of the world's most seismically active zones. Earlier on January 31, magnitude 5.5 earthquake in Pokhara caused minor injury.
