Fuego volcano eruption in Guatemala has closed an airport and forced the evacuation of at least 100 people. "Fuego Volcano erupted Saturday and spewed ashes to an altitude reaching 5,500 meters above sea level," CNN has written quoting Guatemala's national disaster agency.
Fuego volcano eruption in Guatemala also stopped all air traffic at La Aurora International Airport.
The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction agency has issued instructions urging people to take shelter, wear masks, cover water tanks and be aware of evacuation routes.
Fuego volcano's alert level has been raised to "orange".
The authorities had evacuated thousands of people from the area after Fuego started spewing large volumes of lava and ash in September 2012. Red Alert was issued in the areas near the Volcano of Fire, especially in the departments of Chimaltenango communities.
