Earthquake triggered landslide in Ecuador kills 2

A landslide triggered by earthquake in Ecuador has claimed lives of at least two people, Reuters reports quoting the National Risk Control Agency.

Another eight people have been injured and three others have been trapped in the landslides at quarries on the outskirts of Quito, Inquirer reports mentioning the country’s risk management agency.

A shallow 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Ecuadoran capital Quito triggering a landslidein the area.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake's epicenter was located 14 miles northeast of Quito.
