Tornado in Perth claims 2 lives

Tornado in Perth suburbs of Australia has claimed lives of two people, cutting power to thousands of homes.

The wild weather that hit Hilton, O’Connor and Claremont early today was a tornado, The Australia News confirmed quoting the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM).


Around 14,000 customers lost power during the freak storm in Perth suburbs. 

According to Perth Now, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services has received more than 80 requests for assistance in the Perth metropolitan area, mostly for damaged roofs and fallen trees.

Most of the storm damage has been reported in Beeliar, Hilton, Melville and the western suburbs.
