Lightning strikes in Colorado and Montana injure 13

At least 13 people are reported to injured in different lightning strikes in Colorado and Montana region.

Lightning strike in Colorado farm has injured at least nine people with two of them in critically condition.

Another lightning strike near a trail head in Rocky Mountain National Park injured a 65-years-old woman. She is having treatment at Estes Park Medical Center.

Lightning strikes in Glacier National Park, Montana injured two adults and a child. They are having treatment at Kalispell hospital.

About 500 lightning strikes were recorded in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho two days ago.

According to CO Weather Forecast Office, approximately 494,000 cloud to ground lightning flashes occur in Colorado every year and 1 out of every 52 lightning flash results in a lightning insurance claim.
