Slovakian floods prompt state of emergency

A flood emergency has been declared in Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia, Xinhua reported.

The rising water level in the Danube River has reached 9.71 meters.

Slovakian floods are expected to peak on Thursday as the flood waters from Austria reach Slovakia.

Recent floods in central Europe have claimed lives of at least 12 people. Flooding and damages have been reported in Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary.
