Landslide claims 2 in Hunan, China

Landslide caused by heavy rainstorm has claimed lives of at least two people in Hunan Province of China.

Landslide hit a house in Shuangqiao at 1 p.m, the Xinhua reported. One person was rescued but others two were found dead under rubble.

Heavy rainfall and floods have collapsed more than 272 houses in Huanan since Monday.

Similarly hail and flooding have affected more than 290,000 people in Mongolia. A total of 97,500 hectares of cropland have been flooded, more than 247 houses have been totally destroyed causing damage of 430 million yuan, the regional civil affairs department said.

Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarter has expected tropical storm Rumbia to hit Guangdong province on Monday night or Tuesday.
