Tornado damage in Athens, Alabama reported

At least two EF-0 tornadoes touched down in the Athens and Elkmont areas, the National Weather Service confirms.

Storm which lasted for an hour starting from 2:04 p.m. was tracked from Athens in Limestone County north to the Ardmore and Elkmont areas, Alabama live blog reports.

Wind storm damage was reported at strip mall and Zaxby’s restaurant. Roof damage was also reported at Walmart on U.S. Highway 72.

One person sustained minor injuries while running for tornado shelter near Walmart on U.S. Highway 72 in Athens.
