Recent Natural Disasters

• Landslide in Kashmir, India
  -Heavy rainfall caused flooding and landslide in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley.
  -Landslide also closed Jammu-Srinagar highway. Landslide hit Seeri area of Ramban district.
  -MET office has warned more thunderstorms in Zojilla Pass area of Srinagar-Leh highway and Ramban area in next 48 hours. Click for detail report on Kashmir flood and landslide.

Recent Earthquakes 

• M 5.0 moderate earthquake in Northern Algeria (@ 12 km depth) with epcenter located 10 km SE of Bejaïa. Weak tremor will have felt as far as Algiers.

• M 3.4 light earthquake in California (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 9km NW of Avenal. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Coalinga, Lemoore and Hanford.

• M 5.8 very strong earthquake in Uzbekistan (@ 20 km depth) with epicenter locted 19km NNE of Bulung'ur. People of Bulung'ur and Jomboy will have felt strong shaking of MMI VI. Moderate to light shaking iwll have felt by the people of Daxbet, Chelak, Jizzax, Samarqand, Dushanbe, Qarshi, Khujand, Tashkenta and Buxoro.06:08 UTC (local time 2013-05-26 11:08 @ epicenter)
• M 3.4 light shallow earthquake in FYR of Macedonia (@ 2 km depth) with epicenter ocared 2 km N of Capari. Weak shaking will have felt as far as Ресен.

Recent Flash Floods

• Flooding in South China
  -A yellow alert has been issued for rainstorms in south China. Meteorological authorities have predicted the rainstorms to last until Monday.
  -Up to 200 mm rainfall has been forecast over a period of 24 hours in Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangdong and Guangxi province of China.
