  • M 4.6 moderate shallow earthquake in Caucasus Region, Russia (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 43 km N of Stantsiya Novyy Afon (Georgia). People of Sokhumi, Zelenchukskaya and Gant'iadi will have felt weak shaking of MMI II.

  • M 4.6 moderate shallow earthquake in Batan Islands Region, Philippines (@ 8 km depth) with epicenter located 40 km E of Itbayat. People of Claveria, Hengchun and Taitung City, Taiwan will have felt weak shaking of MMI II.

  • M 3.6 light shallow earthquake in Crete, Greece (@ 2 km depth) with epicenter located 9 km SW of Palaiochóra. It will have well felt by the people of Chaniá, Irákleion and Greece.
    06:00 UTC (local time 09:00; 2013/04/11 @ epicenter)
  • M 5.2 moderate shallow earthquake in Myanmar (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 51 km ESE of Myaydo. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Thayetmyo, Prome and Nay Pyi Taw.

Hail storm in Chennai: 3rd time in 5 years

Hail storm hit Ayanavaram, Chennai between 1.30pm and 1.45pm Friday afternoon. Nungambakkam recorded 3.5cm of rain and Meenambakkam 1.1cm, India Meteorological Department said. Last hail storm in Chennai was in September 6, 2011. This is the third hail storm in Chennai in last 5 years. No damage or injury have been reported from Chennai hail storm. Q: The tremors of earthquake were felt at intervals of 15 seconds. The first tremor was felt at 8:54:57 and last tremor was felt at 10:45:12. How many times were the tremors felt? A: The answer is 441 Difference of times = 10:45:12 - 8:54:57 = 9:104:72 - 8:54:57 = 1:50 :15 = 3600 + 3000 + 15 = 6615 seconds. Now, 6615/15 = 441 Still confused?
