-Earthquake Tsunami in Solomon Islands has collapsed more than 100 houses in Lata. Still three people are reported to be missing.
-Due to the remoteness of the natural disaster area, it is difficult for Solomon Islands government and relief agencies to get detail report of the damage.
-New Zealand has offered 167,294 U.S. dollars as an emergency aid after Solomon Islands earthquake.
-The Solomon Islands sit above the collision between the Australia and Pacific plates. Same geological setting which is responsible to caused the Solomon Islands Earthquake & Tsunami has caused massive earthquakes earlier too. Note that today's (February 6, 2013) is the second-largest earthquake in the Solomon Islands region in almost 40 years.

-Death toll has risen to 6.

-At least 5 people have died in Solomon Islands Tsunami.
-Following Solomon Islands Police Commissioner John Lansley, dozens of people are still missing.
-Japan expects a 20 cm (8 inch) tsunami to reach the country at around 4.30pm (0730 GMT).

-Tsunami in Solomon Islands has destroyed more than 50 houses.
DR: It is just the preliminary report obtained from locals in Solomon. We have currently no report of injured people.

-Several houses reported to be flooded in eastern Temotu province of Solomon Islands.
-France has urged the residents near the coast to evacuate. France issued a tsunami warning for its New Caledonia territory.

-The Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management (MCDEM) has now issued a Tsunami watch for New Zealand.  "Potential threat" warning has been issued by NZ Govt.
NZ Govt has warned that first wave may arrive in the areas around North Cape at approx between 1800 and 1900 hours.
-Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre mentions that there is no Tsunami threat to Australia.
-So far there are currently no reports of casualties after 8.0M quake in Solomon Islands.

-Tsunami in Solomon Islands has destroyed three villages. More Tsunami report yet to come.
-A 90cm sea level rise has been observed in the Santa Cruz Islands.
-Good news for Australians, The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has removed Australia from the list Tsunami warning area.
-Solomon islands earthquake 2013 is the second earthquake this year to trigger Tsunami. Earlier in January earthquake in Alaska generated tsunami at Port Alexander and Sitka.

M 8.0 massive earthquake hit Santa Cruz Islands (Solomon Islands) today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located
81 km W of Lata, Solomon Islands. It was 17.8 miles deep.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre issued a tsunami warning for the Solomons, Vanuatu, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Tuvalu, New Caledonia, Kosrae, Fiji, Kiribati, Wallis and Futuna. A tsunami watch was in effect for American Samoa, Australia, New Zealand and eastern Indonesia. 



A magnitude 8.1 earthquake in Solomon Islands in 2007 triggered a tsunami which killed at least fifteen people.

  1. The prophetic word of the Lord given to a servant of God in Venezuela these previous events announcing a large tsunami in the North Atlantic, which will impact all of northern South America, south of north america, central america and African and European coasts.
