  • Flooding in Davao City, Philippines
    -One killed and more than 8,000 people displaced due to flooding in Davao del Norte,
    -Floods also damaged houses in Magatos village, in Asuncion.
    -At least 12 villages close to Davao river are submerged in flood.
    -Cold front triggered flash floods in Davao areas. It is forecast to bring light to moderate rains over Mindanao (Photo: Inquirer).

  • M 4.0 light shallow earthquake in Black Sea, Offshore Georgia (@ 2 km depth) with epicenter located 65 km SW Ochamchira. Weak tremor will have felt as far as Batumi.

  • M 4.9 moderate deep earthquake in North Island of New Zealand (@ 118 km depth) with epicenter located North Island of New Zealand. People of Hawera, Wanganui, New Plymouth and Midhirst will have felt weak shaking of MMI III.

Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Tropical cyclone in Samoa and American Samoa
    -People are being evacuated in Samoa and American Samoa ahead of the arrival of Cyclone Garry.
    - American Samoa's Pago Pago harbour and a tuna canneries are also closed.
    -Cyclone Garry is forecast to pass from 96 km of Tutuila, the main American Samoan island.
    -Samoa Cyclone 'Evan' killed several people in December 2012.
