  • Wildfire in Southern France
    -Wild fire in southern France destroyed 400 hectares of forest.
    -One firefighter reported to be seriously injured.
    -A total of 150 firefighters, 60 vehicles and 4 aircraft are struggling to control the fire.
    -Six provinces in France are currently under a heatwave alert with temperature in Paris expected to hit 36 degrees Celsius during the weekend.

  • Typhoon Kai-Tak in China
    -More than 18,000 people evacuated from the southern province of Guangdong.
    -Following China Meteorological Administration, Kai-tak is forecast to dump 250 millimeters (9.8 inches) to 300 millimeters of rain on parts of Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces.
    -Shipping lines and railway services in coastal areas of south China have been suspended (Guangdong and the island province of Hainan).
    -The route from Beihai to Weizhou Island, China’s biggest volcanic island was also closed.

It will have well felt by the people of Big Bear Lake, Mentone, Redlands, Big Bear City, Barstow Heights, Lake Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Riverside, San Bernardino and Huntington Beach.

  • M 2.6 weak earthquake in Northern California (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 6 km ENE from Willits. Just a weak shaking will have felt by the people of Lake Pillsbury and Ukiah.

Ongoing Major River Floods (Based on Satellite observation): Australia (River Murray), Botsawana (Savuti channel), Botswana (Selinda), Brazil (River Tocantins, River Madeira and River Amazon), China (River Mekong, River Huang He and River Brahmaputra), Colombia (River Japura, River Rio Negro and River Magdelena), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopio, India, Mali,New Zealand, Senegal, Sudan and USA.
  • Flash floods in Fresno, California
    -One dead and another missing in Yosemite river in Fresno.
    -Both were brothers of which 10 years older was swept away by high current of river.
  • Flash floods in Tyler, Texas
    -About 4,600 customers were out of power in Smith County, including in Tyler.
    -Lightning caused grass fires north of Interstate 20.
    -The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Smith County lasting until 10:45 a.m.

    -Gordon is moving toward the east near 17 mph. 
  • Tropical Depression Hector
    -As of 01:00 UTC, TD Hector was located 700 km WSW of the southern tip of Baja California.
    -The depression is moving toward the north-northwest near 5 mph.
