San Antonio flooding kills 3, emergency declared

Update 2013/05/26 -Death toll from San Antonio flood has risen to 3. -The body of 18-year-old was found Sunday near Cibolo Creek. -Earlier bodies of  two women were recovered. Update 20:30 UTC -At least 200 people are believed to be rescued from their homes and cars in San Antonio. -The San Antonio River reached record levels of over 10.5 metres on Saturday. Earlier in October 1998 the level was just 9.75 metres, the US National Weather Service said. -Texas flood 1998 claimed 14 lives in San Antonio. Flood damage was around US$750 million. Flooding in San Antonio, Texas killed one and left another missing, Fire department spokesman Christian Bove told CNN. A flash flood emergency has been declared in San Antonio. Tornado touched down several times in Hood, Tarrant, Dallas and Parker counties. Multiples fatalities have been reported. Hail, flooding in Temple, Texas

Storms caused heavy rain, hail and street flooding in Temple area of Texas, KwTx reports. Storm downed several trees near Ferguson Park in Temple. The storm produced one-inch hail in eastern Temple and 1.75-inch hail on the northeast side of Temple. Below is a photo of hail in Ferguson Park in Temple (Adam Cuker, Vortex Chasers). Wind gust of 72-mile-per-hour was recorded in southwest Temple. Following Temple Fire & Rescue official, a power line down at the Taco Bell at 31st Street and HK Dodgen Loop caused fire on a tree. Flooding in Houston 2013: Houston flood photos

Flash flooding in Houston, Texas has caused huge power outages, local media reports. Storms caused heavy rainfall and hail on the Greater Houston area. About six inches of rainfall has been recorded within three hours in some parts of Harris County. Golf ball-sized hails have also been reported in parts of the Houston. Several roads are closed in Harris County and Fort Bent County. Following CenterPoint Energy, the domestic energy delivery company, around 44,927 customers were without power as of 7:00 a.m. The National Weather Service issued a severe weather alert Saturday afternoon and has now extended to 1 a.m. Sunday with severe thunderstorm warning for the Houston area. Recent hail storms in Hitchcock, Texas has damaged several police cars. Softball-sized hail rained in Texas in the early morning hours of April 3, 2013. According to the Hitchcock, Texas Police Department, seven of its eleven police cars got seriously damaged by the recent hail storms . Hitchcock tx hail damaged roof of church and fire station too.
