The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a heat advisory for Mississippi in effect from noon today to 7 pm CDT Thursday. According to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), it is expected to produce dangerous heat index readings along and west of the Mississippi River.

Heat wave has claimed lives of two people in a shopping mall in Cape Town City of South Africa. Two people died in Khayelitsha Shopping Mall as the mercury reached 34°C in Cape Town City.

The National Medical Office has issued a second-degree heat alert in Hungary effective today. The dry weather will arrive in the Carpathian Basin this weekend, the National Weather Service said. Around 40C is possible in western Hungary Sunday. Roads in Budapest will be cooled during the night, The Budapest Times reported. The Hungarian Grand Prix, a motor race held annually in Hungary will also have to deal with the temperature monitoring system.
