March 2, 2019: Flash floods in Kandahar, the southern Afghanistan claimed lives of 20 people. According to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), heavy rainfall caused flooding in Kandahar city. At least 10 people, including children, are still missing in Arghandab, Daman, Spin Boldak and Dand districts.

Landslide occurred in Hobo Bank in Agro district in Badakhshan province of Afghanistan on Friday. According to the Khaama Press (Afghan News Agency), Afghan secuirty forces and rescue teams have been deployed to the area to assist the local residents. US President Barack Obama has offered condolence to victims of Badakhshan landslides. According to the national disaster management authority, flash floods in northern Afghanistan had claimed lives more than 100 people five days ago. O
