Earthquake Iloilo: Magnitude 6.6 earthquake rattles Masbate, Philippines

August 18, 2020: A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.6 has been recorded in Masbate at 08:03 am today, the Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) confirmed.

The earthquake was tectonic in origin and occurred at 21 km depth.

The highest intensity of MMI VII has been reported from Cataingan, Masbate.
