Tornado warning issued for Onslow County, NC

April 13, 2020: A tornado warning has been issued for Central Onlosw County, North Carolina. 

At 09:57 am EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Belgrade or 11 miles northeast of Piney Green and was moving northeast at 60 mph.

Locations that could be impacted
Jacksonville, New River Station, Pumpkin Center, Piney Green, Camp Lejeune Center, Swansboro, Hubert, Maysville, Silverdale, Kellum, Midway Park, Belgrade, Catfish Lake, Deppe and Loco VFD.

At least six people have already died after storms triggered tornadoes and flooding in Mississippi.

Tornadoes touched down in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi. Mississippi governor Tate Reeves has declared a state of emergency.
