Bodie, California earthquake: Earthquake swarm near Mammoth Lakes

April 11, 2020: A series of earthquakes shook the California-Nevada border near the Yosemite National Park with recent one of magnitude 5.2 near Bodie, California.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), magnitude 5.2 moderate earthquake in California today at 7:36 am had its epicenter located 30km SE of Bodie and 51 km SSW of Mammoth Lakes.

Two hours later, another temblor of magnitude 4.6 rattled the same area. Two more earthquakes with magnitude 4.1 and 3.9 were recorded in the same region around 10 a.m.

USGS received earthquake felt reports from Mammoth Lakes, Bishop, Arnoid, Sonora, Yosemite National Park, El Portal, Mariposa, Pioneer, South Lake Tahoe, June Lake and as far as Placerville and Merced.

No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported from earthquake near Bodie, California today.
