  • Severe tropical cyclone Donna
    -The category two tropical cyclone Donna is expected to increase intensity to category three or four.
    -Donna is located 170km NE of the Torres Islands.
    -The Vanuatu Meteorology and Geohazards Department has issued a Red Alert for Torba Province. A Yellow Alert is current for Sanma and Penama provinces and a Blue Alert for Malampa province.

  • Magnitude 3.4 weak earthquake in California (@ 3 km depth) with epicenter located 7km NE of Aguanga. It was well felt in Aguanga, Hemet and San Jacinto.

  • Magnitude 5.1 moderate earthquake in Peru (@ 48 km depth) with epicenter located 97km WNW of Camana. It was well felt by the people of Atico and Camana.

  • Magnitude 5.2 moderate earthquake in Russia (@ 10km depth) with epicenter located 12km WSW of Kumukh. Weak tremor was felt by the people of Kumukh, Zaqatala, Nizhneye Kazanishche, Buynaksk and Karabudakhkent.

  • Magnitude 3.3 weak earthquake in Colorado (@ 7 km depth) with epicenter located 4km NW of Rangely. Weak tremor was felt in Rangely and Verna, United States.

  • Magnitude 5.9 strong earthquake in Tajikistan (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 32km NNW of Karakenja. Light shaking of MMI was felt by the people of Karakenja, Jirghatol, Ravon, Ormosh, Aydarken, Tayan, Andijon, Namangan, Dushanbe and Tashkent.

Recent Flash Floods
  • Flash flood emergency in Arkansas
    -Through Thursday morning, from 1 to 4 inches of rain has fallen over southern Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas and Illinois.
    -Flash flood watches continue from Missouri to northwest Ohio and extreme southern Lower Michigan. 

Recent Volcanic Activity
  • Kick ’em Jenny volcano eruption in Grenada
    -A Yellow Alert has been issued for recent eruption of Kick 'em Jenny volcano.
    -According to the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC), the eruption was felt in northern Grenada and a 5 km exclusion zone has been imposed.
    -There is no tsunami threat to Saint Lucia as a result of the heightened activity of Kick ’em Jenny. 

Recent Tropical Cyclones

    -The category two tropical cyclone Donna is expected to increase intensity to category three or four.
    -Donna is located 170km NE of the Torres Islands.

Natural Disaster News
  • The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office will be awarded $1.5 million from FEMA for flood recovery. The flood recovery assistance will help replace damaged equipment, vehicles and other items used for emergency preparedness measures.
  • Missouri attorney general Josh Hawley created natural disaster rapid response team to help flood victims providing relief for victim's facing mortgage payments deal with The Department of Insurance and respond to consumer complaints regarding possible scams.
  • The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) will  fly over Ucluelet and Tofino at 1,000-1,500 ft. on May 3rd between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to practice relaying voice messages through the aircraft to an adjacent EOC, as well as, relaying a voice message to EMBC Head Quarters in Victoria.

Typhoon Hagibis causes purple sky in Japan

October 13, 2019:  The sky turned in deep purple colour in Japan surprising the locals, just before the arrival of Typhoon Hagibis.
The social medias have been flooded with the images of the bright purple and pink sky mentioning it as a "strange phenomenon.".

Update 09:18 A.M.
At least one people died and three others injured in China, the official Xinhua News Agency said.

Further 17 others from three tourist buses were trapped by quake-triggered landslides in Yunnan Province of China.

Update 07:25 A.M.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, another earthquake in the morning (not to be confused with midnight Tibet/Nepal earthquake) had magnitude of 5.9 in the border of southwest China's Yunnan and Sichuan provinces.
The quake was felt strongly in the county seat of Deqen, Xinhua reported.
Earthquake also triggered landslides, which blocked the traffic from Deqen to Benzilan in China.

Davao earthquake October 16, 2019: One dead, dozens injured in Philippines

October 16, 2019: One people died and dozens have been injured after a magnitude 6.3 earthquake rattled Philippines Wednesday night.
According to the ABS-CBN television network, a girl was hit by collapsed wall in a house and died in Datu Paglas town in Maguindanao province.
The epicenter was located 23 kilometers southwest of Makilala town in North Cotabato.
More than 20 people were injured in Magsaysay town in Davao del Sur province of Philippines.
Local officials have called off classes in  the cities of Davao, Cotabato and Cotabato province to allow engineers to check the integrity of building structures, Inquirer reported.
"All classes in public and private schools in Davao City from kindergarten to post-graduate studies are hereby suspended tomorrow, Thursday,” Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said in a statement.
A fire broke out in a shopping mall in southern General Santos city shortly after the quake hit.
