Mudslide in Peru kills 2; Recent floods impact 2,700 families

Recent natural disasters in Peru have claimed lives of at least two people and impacted some 2,700 families.

The two people died in a mudslide after the River Patan burst its banks in the southeast of the country.

Meteorologists have related current floods with El Nino weather which is expected to be the strongest in 15 years.

Last year, Peru had declared state of emergency in 14 regions to brace for possible damage from El Nino in the rainy season.
