Drought emergency in Palau; Koror receives lowest rain in 65 yrs

Palau has declared state of emergency over drought. Koror, the most populous area of Palau, has recorded the lowest rainfall in 65 years over the past four months.

According to National Weather Service, the Ngerimel dam has run out of water and flow from the Ngerikill river is very low.

Forecasting the weather of outlying Islands of Palau, the rainfall will be below normal over the next 2 to 3 months and drought conditions will worsen for all Islands and atolls.
