Magnitude 3.9 earthquake in Gulf of Bothnia shook Sweden and Finland at 10:55 pm Saturday night.

Tremor was widely felt across Sweden and Finland including Moron, Pitea, Lulea, Skelleftea, Haparanda, Kalajoki, Oulu and Umea.
No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported.
Earlier, the Swedish National Seismic Network mentioned magnitude 4.0 quake with epicenter in Gulf of Bothnia. Eight minutes later, it was revised to 3.9.

2016-03-19 23:03: Uppdatering Bottenviken: Skalvet 22:55 i Bottenviken skedde 47 km rakt öster om Kinnbäck, 60 km sydöst om Piteå och 80 km nordväst om Skellefteå. Skalvet uppmättes till magnitud 3,9 och skakade om kustområdet runt Bottenviken. Senast ett större skalv inträffade i området var i juni 2010, då ett magnitud 3,6 skalv skedd i närheten av Bureå, söder om Skellefteå.
Detta område i Bottenviken har en relativt hög seismiskt aktivitet men har inte haft ett skalv av denna storlek under de senaste 100 åren.
