Major Natural Disasters Today
  • Severe weather in Mississippi
    -A tornado formed east of Wesson, the National Weather Service said.
    -The tornado knocked down several trees along Highway 429, east of Thomastown in Leake County.
    -Tornado warnings were issued for several areas of central Mississippi late Monday morning, including Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties.
    -On Monday evening, a large tornado was reported in Escambia County, located along the western end of the Florida Panhandle causing extensive damage to as many as 30 homes.
    -Atleast two employees of a Pizza Hut restaurant in Alexandria were injured.
  • Stormy weather in parts of UAE and Oman
    -Stormy weather lashed parts of UAE and Oman on Tuesday with Khorfakkan and Dibba having worst rainfall.
    -Heavy downpour has been recorded in parts of Khorfakkan, Sharjah, along with Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.

  • M 4.8 moderate earthquake in Central California (@ 8 km depth) with epicenter located 10 km WNW of Big Pine. Light shaking of MMI IV will have been felt by the people of Big Pine, Bishop, West Bishop and Dixon Lane-Meadow Creek. Similarly, people of Mammoth Lakes, Lone Pine, Sanger, Reedley, Dinuba, Parlier and Selma.
