Eastern China provinces have been kept on high alert for approaching typhoon Swan that may bring gales and rainstorms on Sunday night.

Typhoon Swan was in the waters 360 km south of Taitung City of Taiwan at 5 a.m., with a speed of 45 meters per second at its center. Typhoon Swan is moving northeastward at a speed of 20 km per hour and expected to arrive at the East China Sea on Sunday evening.
More than 10,000 fishing ships and boats have sheltered in harbors. Nearly 5,000 residents have been evacuated.

According to China Meteorological Administration (CMA), a yellow alert means the tropical cyclone is likely to affect or has affected, bringing average wind speed of scale 8 on off shore & land or gust of scale 10; this condition is to continue in 24 hours.
Preventive Measures
- Government and related departments should prepare for emergency response to typhoon.
- Stop large-scale outdoor assembly, and high altitude operation.
- Operations on water and ships should take preventive measures, and reinforce facilities of port.
- Reinforce or dismantle structures; people should stay indoors; make sure the senior and the children stay in the safe places; transfer people in unsafe buildings.
