Magnitude 4.3 tremor shakes Kathmandu valley — Epicenter in Nuwakot

Magnitude 4.3 light tremor shook Nuwakot Monday evening, Nepal Seismological Center reported.

The earthquake occurred at 06:23 pm at a shallow depth of 10 km.

The epicenter was located near GaunKharka, 31 km NE of capital Kathmandu. It was well felt in Kathmandu valley and adjoining districts.

No preliminary damage or injury report has been obtained. 

This is 358th aftershocks of magnitude four or greater since the major April 2015 earthquake.

Yesterday, at least two aftershocks of magnitude four and greater rattled Nepal. Magnitude 4.1 aftershock hit Dolakha at 09:30 am. It was followed by magnitude 4.0 aftershock at 10:03 am with epicenter in Sindhupalchowk.
