Magnitude 4.1 earthquake hits Darchula, Nepal

Nepal Seismological Center has recorded magnitude 4.1 earthquake in Darchula, the far western region of Nepal.

The earthquake occurred at 08:14 am with epicenter in Api Nampa Conservation Area. No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported.

Several earthquakes have been recorded in nearby districts of Humla, Rukum, Bajura this year. Earlier, magnitude 4.2 earthquake was recorded in Baglung on July 7, 2015.

At least 352 aftershocks have been recorded in Nepal since April 25 major quake. According to the Nepal Disaster Risk Reduction Portal, total death toll from the earthquake and following aftershocks have reached 8,897 as of July 15, 2015.
