National Seismological Centre expects more aftershocks today, please stay outside

The National Seismological Centre, Department of Mines and Geology, has urged people not to hurry back to homes and better to stay in safe places for at least two days.

The National Seismological Centre stated that Tuesday's tremor measuring 6.8 on Richter scale was an aftershock of the 7.6 Richter scale earthquake that struck Gorkha on April 25, 2015. The epicentre of today’s earthquake falls within rupture area of the April 25 main shock.

This is what The Himalayan Times has written quoting NSC Chief Lok Bijaya Adhikari Tuesday night:
We request people not to hurry back to their homes for the time being as temblors measuring 5 to 6 on Richter scale could occur tonight or tomorrow

Landslides triggered by the earthquake have again obstructed the Lamo Sanghu-Barahbise section of Araniko Highway and Trishuli-Dhunche section of Pasang Lhamu Highway on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has appealed people to remain patient, strong and safe without being scared at this hour of crisis.
