M4.1 earthquake hits near Borrego Springs, Southern California

Magnitude 4.1 earthquake hit near Borrego Springs, Southern California at 06:02 am Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 11km NE of Borrego Springs. It was 7.4 miles deep.

Maximum shaking intensity of III will have been felt by the people of Borrego Springs. People of Julian, Oasis and Desert Shores will have been felt minor tremor as well.

No damages or injuries have been reported.

Yesterday, the sensors in California misidentified seismic activity leading USGS to show magnitude 5.5 earthquake seven miles from Brooktrails. The magnitude 8.5 earthquake that struck Japan was felt and detected by the seismic graphs which mistakenly thought it was a moderate earthquake nearby.
