Landslide blocks Kaligandaki river – Several districts on high alert

Landslide at Ramche-9, Kafaldada has blocked the Kaligandaki river in Nepal.

Landslide at Baisari, Myagdi has formed 150 meters depth lake. According to Annapurna Post, the water level has reached upto 2 kilometers.

Landslide has also blocked the Beni-Jomsom road. As many as 26 houses have been inundated after the landslide blocked the Kaligandaki river.

The Home Ministry has kept at least seven districts on high alert. Myagdi, Baglung, Parbat, Palpa, Gulmi, Syanga and Nawalparasi are under high alert, Annapurna Post reported.

Nepal Army has been send to the landslide area.

Landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in Yanchu village of Humla had blocked Karnali river in March 2015.
