Floods kill 57 in latest China natural disaster

Floods in China have claimed lives of at least 57 people and left 13 others missing.

Floods and heavy rains killed 42 including 16 in the collapse of a nine-story building in the city of Guiyang following a landslide, The Associated Press reported.

Seven other people died in the central province of Hunan.

Last week, heavy rainfall in east China's Fujian Province claimed lives of seven people and affected 242,000 people. Central China floods in 1931, one of the deadliest natural disasters, killed more than 145,000 people.
