Earthquake felt in Palm Springs, California

M 3.6 light earthquake felt in Palm Springs, California today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 16 km NNW of Palm Springs, California. It was 10.1 miles deep.

Tremor was well felt in Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage.

No damage or injuries have been reported so far.

According to the Southern California earthquake data center, the 1986 North Palm Springs earthquake was responsible for at least 29 injuries and the destruction or damage of 51 homes in the Palm Springs-Morongo Valley area.
