Floods in western Uganda displace over 16,000 people

Recent floods in western Uganda have displaced over 16,000 people, Xinhua News Agency has mentioned quoting the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) statement.

Heavy rainfall caused the River Semliki burst its banks and affected the western Ugandan district of Ntoroko.

The most affected communities are Bweramule, Butungama, Rwebisengo sub country and Rwebisengo town council, UNICEF added.
