3 dead, 2 missing in floods in France

Flash flooding in France has claimed lives of three people and left two others missing.

Around 30 pupils trapped at Grimaud in the Gulf of St Tropez were rescued, an official of the Var department of the Mediterranean coast told The Local France.

Fatalities are from Mediterranean towns of La Londe-les-Maures, Grimaud and Hyeres.

Weather warnings have been issued in 13 departments of southeastern France, The Local France reported. According to the Euro News, French meteorological authorities have issued an orange alert for these regions.

Tornadoes in Serignan and Nissan-les-Enserune in the Herault department injured ten people.

Floods caused by torrential rains had claimed lives of five people in the southern French region of Le Gard in mid November this year.
