    -An avalanche in Kootenay Pass area of Canada has claimed life of a person and seriously injured a woman, CBC News reported.

  • Forest fires in Riau, Indonesia
    -At least 20,000 people in Riau province of Indonesia have suffered respiratory problems due to thick smog from the recent forest fires, Xinhua reported.

    -
    Heavy storm damaged a house in Hollister in Putnam County, Florida, United States.
    -Lightning strikes killed four cows in Puntam County.
    -According to the Putnam County Emergency Management Agency, straight line winds caused damage in the area.

  • Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in Choiseul and Isabel provinces in Solomon Islands. Several houses have been flooded in Gizo, the capital of the Western Province in the Solomon Islands.

  • Around 17 volcanic eruptions since 2000 has accounted for up to 15% of the difference between predicted and observed warming this century, the journal Nature Geoscience reported.

However, no injuries or fatalities have been reported till now. July 31, 2022: Magnitude 6.0 strong earthquake has been recorded in Khotang district of eastern Nepal at 08:13 am (02:28 UTC) Sunday morning at a shallow depth of 10 km.
