Floods in Iwate, Japan claim 2 lives

Floods in Iwate prefecture of Japan have claimed lives of at least two people and left five others missing, local medias reported.

Mudslide in Hanamaki, Iwate prefecture of Japan buried 91-year-old woman. Swollen river in Nichiwaga in Iwate swept away another 62-year-old man, Kyodo news agency reported.

Floods in Akita Prefecture have injured three people and left five others missing.

An evacuation order has been issued for 1,120 households in Kazuno.

According to Japan Times, bullet train services on the Akita Shinkansen Line were partially suspended.

More heavy rain is predicted in Hokkaido and the northern Tohoku region.
