Vermont flooding sweeps 1, damages roads, 4th of July cancelled

Flooding in Vermont has swept away a person in the New Haven River.

Flash flooding caused by heavy rainfall also damaged main road through Granville. The road was rebuilt two years ago after Tropical Storm Irene washed it.

Flood waters have damaged roads in Braintree, Roxbury, Rochester and Huntington, Boston.Com reported.

Richmond has canceled Fourth of July festivities due to the bad weather.

The National Weather Service has predicted more rainfall today evening with gusts up to 50 mph.
