Death toll from earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir has risen to two. At least 69 people are reported to be injured in Kishtwar and Doda in Jammu region.

-One killed in earthquake in Kishtwar.
-About 30 people are reported to be injured. School building roof collapse in Baderwah injured eight girl student. Other four students were injured when the building of their school collapsed in Kishtwar district.
-An avalanche alert has been issued in the Bhaderwah-Chamba, Zee news writes.
-Cracks have been in several buildings in Chenab valley in J&K.

7 children & 2 teachers reported injured in 3 different schools. Some damage to structures in the region of Doda, Gandoh & Badarwah, CM of J&K Omar Abdullah says. SDRF teams have been mobilized & district officers have been sent.

GDACS has issued a Green Earthquake alert in India with low humanitarian impact based on the magnitude and the affected population and their vulnerability. 4,180,000 people are within 100 km.

USGS has downgraded the magnitude to 5.4 with epicenter location as follows:
17 km (10 miles) NE of Bhadarwah, India
23 km (14 miles) SSE of Kishtwar, India
23 km (14 miles) E of Doda, India
67 km (41 miles) ENE of Udhampur, India
Shaking level:
Moderate shaking of MMI V will have felt by the people of Bhadarwah. People of Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Batoti and Ramnagar. Weak shaking will have felt by the people of Amritsar, Lahore, Srinagar, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Chandigarh, Delhi and Kotli.

Getting reports of a school building collapsed in Kishtwar in state of Jammu and Kashmir. Causalities (if) unknown. Hope they are safe! Reports Raw!! Kishtwar has a population of approx. 34,982.

This is what Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah has tweeted:
"Yup, I felt those tremors in Srinagar. Strange thing was that I heard the rumble before the house started to shake."

In another tweet, he has added:
"With reports of the epicentre being in Doda I'm encouraged by the initial reports about damage. I hope it stays this way."

USGS has updated this earthquake with preliminary magnitude of 5.7 at the shallow depth of 10 km with epicenter in Eastern Kashmir (23 km E of Doda).
Epicenter location:

140 km (87 miles) ENE from Sialkot, Pakistan
146 km (91 miles) SE from Srinagar, Kashmir
187 km (116 miles) NE from Gujranwala, Pakistan
257 km (160 miles) ESE from ISLAMABAD, Pakistan

-Epicenter of this earthquake is in Eastern Kashmir. EMSC mentions magnitude 5.4 located 103 km SE of Srīnagar, India.
-The 2005 Kashmir earthquake killed 100,000 people. It is the17th deadliest earthquake of all time. Kashmir is situated in an earthquake-prone region

Tremors has been felt in Delhi and many parts of North India. Tremors were felt in Delhi and Kashmir at 12.30 pm.

Epicenter unknown till 07:05 UTC. Most of the people on this site are online from Delhi, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Ludhiana, Noida, Ambala, Amritsar, Gandhinagar and Haldwani area.

Hail storm in Chennai: 3rd time in 5 years

Hail storm hit Ayanavaram, Chennai between 1.30pm and 1.45pm Friday afternoon. Nungambakkam recorded 3.5cm of rain and Meenambakkam 1.1cm, India Meteorological Department said. Q: The tremors of earthquake were felt at intervals of 15 seconds. The first tremor was felt at 8:54:57 and last tremor was felt at 10:45:12. How many times were the tremors felt? A: The answer is 441 Difference of times = 10:45:12 - 8:54:57 = 9:104:72 - 8:54:57 = 1:50 :15 = 3600 + 3000 + 15 = 6615 seconds. Now, 6615/15 = 441 Still confused?
