  • Hurricane Barbara in Mexico
    -Hurricane Barbara which made landfall Wednesday on southern Pacific coast of Mexico has claimed lives of at least two people.
    -At least 14 fisherman in Tapanatepec, Oaxaca are still reported to be missing.

  • Flooding in Xinjiang, China
    -Flood in Xinjiang, China has claimed lives of two people and affected over 16,400.

  • Tornadoes in Oklahoma and Arkansas
    -At least four tornadoes touched down in
    Oklahoma and Arkansas.
    -Tornado touched the ground near the town of Perkins in northeast Oklahoma whereas a second tornado touched near Ripley. Click for detail report on

Recent Earthquakes 
  • M 3.6 light shallow earthquake in California (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 13 km WNW of Greenville. It will have well felt by the people of Susanville, Magalia and Paradise.

  • M 3.5 light shallow earthquake in Canada (@ 13 km depth) with epicenter located 20 km NNE of Shawville. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Pembroke, Gatineau, Ottawa and Petawawa.

  • M 5.4 moderate earthquake in Philippines (@ 8 km depth) with epicenter located 16 km N of Licuan. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Bangued, Batac City and Pasil.

Recent Flash Floods

  • Flooding in Portland, Jamaica
    -
    Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in eastern Portland, northeast coastal region of Jamaica.
    -Classes have been suspended at several schools in Portland due to flooding. Port Antonio Primary school is reported to be worst affected.
    -Following Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management officials, no damage or injuries have been reported.

  • Guatemala/Pacaya recent volcanic activity
    -
    Pacaya volcano has been sending volcanic material more than 400 metres in the air.
    -Ashes are expected to spread over Guatemala City due to the direction of the wind.


Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Tropical Depression Barbara
    -As of 12:00 UTC, TD Barbara was located 60 km NW of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico.
    -Barbara made landfall Wednesday on southern Pacific coast of Mexico as category 1 hurricane.

    -A rare tornado hit near Milan, Italy today, The Voice Of Russia reported.
    -Tornado damage is reported heavy throughout the Brianza region.

Liechtenstein earthquake shakes Switzerland

Update 14:15 UTC Swansea City’s preparations for their crucial Europa League clash in Switzerland has been disrupted due to the earthquake, Wales Online reported. M 4.0 light shallow earthquake shakes Liechtenstein today, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported. According to the EMSC, the quake's epicenter was located just 1 km SW of Balzers (Liechtenstein) and 4 km E of Sargans (Switzerland). It was 1 km deep. Tremor was felt across Liechtenstein and parts of Switzerland. No damage or injuries have been reported from earthquake in Liechtenstein. Earthquakes in Liechtenstein are rare.
