  • Mega earthquake in Iran-Pakistan border region
    -Magnitude 7.8 mega earthquake hits Iran-Pakistan Border region.
    -It is the biggest earthquake in Iran in 40 years.

  • Avalanche in Kashmir, India
    -
    An avalanche in Kashmir, India has claimed lives of at least three people.
    -Avalanche disaster occurred 85 km northwest of Srinagar city.
    -Government had already issued avalanche prone warning for the area.
  • Lightning in Okhaldhunga and Parbat districts of Nepal
    -Two separate lightning strikes in Okhaldhunga and Parbat districts of Nepal has claimed lives of two people and injured five others.
    -Injured people haven't reached the hospital due to lack of transportation.

  • M 6.8 severe earthquake Near North Coast of New Guinea, P.n.g. (@ 13 km depth) with epicenter located 18 km ESE of Aitape. Moderate shaking will have felt by the people of Ambunti and Wewak. People of Angoram, Vanimo, Abepura, Jayapura, Wabag and Mount Hagen will have felt light shaking of MMI III.   • M 4.3 light shallow earthquake in Oklahoma (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 11 km E of Luther. Moderate shaking will have felt by the people of Luther and Chandler. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Jones, Harrah, Meeker, Choctaw and Oklahoma city. People of Norman, Tulsa, Broken Arrow and Lawton will have felt weak shaking of MMI III.     Earthquake triggered landslide in Assam. One girl killed and three others are reported to be injured.
  • M 3.5 light shallow earthquake in Northern California (@ 4 km depth) with epicenter located 5 km E from The Geysers. It will have well felt by the people of Middletown, Anderson Springs, Cobb and Santa Rosa.

  • Sandstorms in Scotland
    -Recent sandstorms have affected Fraserburgh, Forres, Banff and Elgin area of Scotland.
    -High winds have caused zero visibility. Several flights have been delayed at Inverness airport.
    -The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across Grampian.

Hail storm in Chennai: 3rd time in 5 years

Hail storm hit Ayanavaram, Chennai between 1.30pm and 1.45pm Friday afternoon. Nungambakkam recorded 3.5cm of rain and Meenambakkam 1.1cm, India Meteorological Department said.
