Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Avenal, Shandon, Lake Nacimiento, Paso Robles, Hanford, Tulare, Visalia, Fresno and Salinas.   • Flash floods in North Korea
    -
    Death toll from North Korea flood has risen to 169. Still 400 people are reported to be missing.
    -Floods destroyed crops in an area of 65,000 hectares.
    -According to UN officials, about two-thirds of the population in North Korea are facing shortage of food and pure water.
  • Flash floods in Bardiya, Nepal
    -More than 200 houses affected by floods in Bardiya, Nepal.
    -High alert issued for Bhimmapur VDC, Guptipur village of Daulatpur VDC, Rajapur settlement of Rajapur VDC, Gulariya and Ashapur of Gulariya municipality, Lalpur and Dudhata villages of Mohammapur VDC.

  • Flash floods in Johnson City, Tennessee
    -At least 10 people rescued by boat in Johnson City. No injury or deaths reported.
    -Evacuation shelters opened at schools in Unicoi and Jonesborough.
  • Flash floods in George Town, Malaysia
    -Continuous rainfall caused flash floods in Jalan Perak, part of Jalan Masjid Negeri, part of Jalan Logan, Jalan Makloom, Kampung Makam, Jalan Sungai Pinang, Jalan Anson and Jalan Patani.
    -More than 300 families affected by recent natural tragedy in George Town.

  • Flash floods in Metro Manila, Philippines
    -Flash flood alert issued for Quirino Avenue, Pedro Gil, Rizal Avenue, Taft Rotonda, P. Tuazon, España and Maceda in Manila and EDSA Aurora tunnel in Quezon City.
    -A heavy to intense (7.5 to 25.0 mm/hr) rainfall was observed over Manila today morning.

Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Reventador, Sangay, Villarrica, Etna, Erta Ale, Nyiragongo, Ol Doinyo Lengai, Sakurajima, Dukono, Batu Tara, Semeru and Manam volcano.
  • Mount Tongariro/New Zealand recent volcanic activity
    -Mt. Tongariro spewed volcanic ashes from the Te Mari craters, near Ketetahi hot springs, on the northern side of the mountain.
    -The alert level for Mt Tongariro raised from 1 to 2.
    -Several people left their houses on the southern shores of Lake Rotoaira.

  • Tropical Storm Ernesto
    -As of 01:00 UTC , TS Ernesto was located 395 km E of Cabo Gracias a Dios on nic/Hon border.
    -A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Jamaica and a tropical storm watch is in effect for Grand Cayman and the coast of Honduras from the Honduras/Nicaragua border westward to Punta Castilla.
  • Tropical Storm Florence
    -As of 01:00 UTC, TS Florence was located 1355 km W of the Cape Verde Islands.

  • High Tide in Caldera, Costa Rica
    -Around 250 people evacuated after high tide in Puntarenas.
    -At least 35 homes were flooded in the area of Caldera de Esparza, in the province of Puntarenas.
    -Heavy flooding closed off the Ruta 27 in Caldera, Puntarenas.
  • Wildfire near Chelan, Washington
    -Wildfire burned 1,000 acres near Chelan.
    -Two air tankers and three helicopters are used to control the blaze.
