  • Flooding in Saudi Arabia
    -Eighteen people killed after flooding in Saudi Arabia. Out of them, 16 are Saudis and two Sudanese.
    -Torrential rainfall from last some days caused flooding.
    -Rescue works are affected due to heavy rainfall and strong winds.
    -In 2009, about 100 people were killed after flooding in Saudi Arabia. Jeddah was badly affected.
  • Sandstorms in Egypt
    -Khamasin sandstorm affected Cairo, Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, Suez and Assuit areas of Northern Governorates.
    -Sandstorms was of the result of local storms in North Africa.
    -Four main ports in Suez closed due to the sandstorm.
    -Emergency status declared by Cairo International Airport  after reduction in visibility.
    -A sandstorm is a common natural disaster in Egypt, that very often happens in desert countries.

  • M 5.1 moderate earthquake in South Eastern Iran (@ 62 km depth) with epicenter located 41 km E Kahnuj. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Jiroft and Kahnuj. Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt in Al Khasab (Oman) and Kerman (Iran) region.

  • M 3.2 weak shallow earthquake in Montenegro (@ 2 km depth) with epicenter located 39 km SW Podgorica. Just a weak shaking will have felt by the people of  Ulcinj and Podgorica.

  • M 4.5 moderate deep earthquake in Guatemala with epicenter located 43 km NE of Tapachula (Mexico). Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of San josé ojetenán, Motozintla, Tapachula and Huehuetenango (Guatemala).

  • M 4.2 light shallow earthquake in Strait of Gibraltar (@ 13 km depth) with epicenter located 36 km SW from Almeria (Spain). Just a weak shaking will have felt by the people of Roquetas de mar and Almería.

    -Slight increase in seismic activity.
    -Tungurahua is an active stratovolcano located in the Cordillera Oriental of Ecuador.

  • Flooding in Benin City of Nigeria
    -One person, staff of Nigeria Prison Service, killed after flooding in Benin city.
    -Torrential rainfall for continuous five hours caused flooding.
    -Benin City is the capital of Edo State in southern Nigeria.
    -Last year (August) flooding in southwest Nigeria Killed at least 102 people.
  • Flooding in State of New South Wales, Australia
    -Sydney and Mooney Mooney region experienced heaviest rainfall of 2012.
    -Heavy rainfall flooded several roads across Sydney.

  • Wildfire in Qipan Mountain region of China
    -Wildfire in Qipan Mountain in Shenyang
    -No casualties reported.
    -More than 700 people including firefighters and local controlled the fire.
  • Tornadoes in Oklahoma
    -At least 59 tornadoes are confirmed in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Oklahoma region.
