  • Very strong earthquake Offshore Valparaiso, Chile
    -M 6.7 very strong earthquake hit Offshore Valparaiso, Chile with epicenter located 42 km NNE of Valparaiso.
    -Very  strong shaking of MMI VII will have felt by the people of  Quillota. People of Hacienda La Calera, Limache, Villa Alemana and Quilpue will have experienced a strong shaking.
    -ONEMI writes earthquake of greatest intensity between the regions of Atacama and Biobio.
    -Evacuation ordered in Tongoy in the region of Coquimbo, to Constitution in the region of Maule.

  • M 4.6 moderate deep earthquake in Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan (@ 211 km depth) with epicenter located 78 km SSW of Faizabad. Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Dushanbe (Tajikistan), Kabul (Afghanistan) and Peshawar (Pakistan).

  • M 5.6 strong shallow but harmless sea quake in Kermadec Islands regions 9@ 15 km depth) with epicenter located 157 km ESE of L'Esperance Rock. The populated ares are very far to cause any damage.

  • M 6.8 strong deep earthquake in Eastern New Guinea Reg, Papua New Guinea (@ 208 km depth) with epicenter located 139 km N of Lae. About 2,383,000 people will have felt light shaking of MMI IV. People of Madang, Lae, Kainantu, Bulolo, Finschhafen, Goroka, Wau, Kundiawa and Mount Hagen will have experienced light shaking.
    Christa Pitt from Lae writes, "I arrived in Lae, Papua New Guinea 13 days ago and experienced first quake today. It was quite scary, but now I know what it is all about!

  • M 4.9 moderate shallow earthquake in Kenya (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 33 km NNW of Nairobi. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Limuru, Kiambu, Ruiru and Nairobi region of Kenya. There are many primary schools in this area. Kariguini, Grace and Gachoire Primary School are close to epicenter.
    Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya.

    The earthquake tremor was felt as far as Limuru, Machakos and Konza.
  • M 4.9 moderate shallow sea quake in Mauritius Province (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 464 km E of Ile Rodrigues. The populated residential area is very far from the epicenter.

Volcanic Activity List
  • Russia/Shiveluch recent volcanic activity
    -At 05.59 a.m. local time, Shiveluch volcano erupted with emission of ashes up to 9,500 meters.
    -It is said to be most powerful eruption this year.
    -However, no warning issued for air traffic.

Flooding List
  • Flooding in Rwanda
    -Death toll from flooding in three districts of Northern and western Province of Rwanda has risen to five.
    -Three more bodies found in Rubavu and Nyabihu districts. It makes two deaths in Rubavu and Nyabihu each and one in Musanze.
    -About 170 houses flooded. At least 400 people are displaced.
    -Flood water entered Virunga National Park too.

  • About 200 people reported to be evacuated due to flooding in Colombia. Continuous rainfall caused flooding in several parts.
  • 'Flood Watch' is issued for Orara and Bellinger River Valley of Australia. There is 70% chance of minor flooding in these regions.
