Albania's biggest earthquake in 40 yrs kills 31, injures 658

Atleast 658 have been injured. -Major damages reported in the port city of DurrĂ«s and the town of Thumane. -A national day of mourning has been declared in Albania and neighboring Kosovo -It was the largest to hit Albania in forty years. Update 09:00 UTC At least seven people have been killed in Albania, causing buildings to collapse and burying residents under rubble. The health ministry has confirmed that at least 325 people have been injured in the quake. Also the schools have been closed until further notice in Durres, Lezhe and Tirana. Flooding in Greece kills two tourists

November 25, 2019: Two people have been killed and hundreds of homes have been flooded following an overnight storm in Greece . Bodies of two tourists have been recovered near the port of Antirio, 250 kilometers (155 miles) west of Athens, The National Herald reported. The highway linking the Greek capital to the western port city of Patras have been closed following the mudslides caused by heavy rainfall.

Hulimavu Lake flood inundated 800 houses in Bengaluru

November 24, 2019: Eight hundred houses have been inundated on Sunday afternoon, after the bund of Hulimavu lake off Bannerghatta Road breached, The Hindu reported. Hulimavu lake water flooded houses at Krishna Layout, DLF Road, Saraswathipura, Avani Sringeri Nagar, Royal Residency Layout, and BTM Layout. According to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), around 193 people have been evacuated to safety. The BBMP and Fire and Emergency Services and Quick Response Teams are carrying out the relief work .

Flooding in France kills two, leaves two missing

November 25, 2019: Flooding and mudslides caused by heavy rainfall has claimed lives of two people and leaves two missing in France. According to the French national weather service Meteo France, the area absorbed the equivalent of two months of average rainfall in 24 hours. In France , the Nice airport was briefly closed Saturday, The Weather Channel reported. Also in Italy, a 30-meter section of highway along a viaduct in coastal city of Savona has been collapsed. In Italy, rescuers are searching for a woman swept away by the surging Bormida river in the north.

Cyclone Rita forms between Solomons and Vanuatu

November 24, 2019: The South Pacific cyclone season's first storm named Rita has formed between Solomon Islands and Vanuatu . According to the Vanuatu Meteorology and Geo-Hazards Department, at 5pm local time, the low pressure near Solomon Islands was named Tropical Cyclone Rita as it developed into a category one system. Cyclone Rita was located about 405 km NE of Torres and 400 km NNE of Sola, an island in the far north of Vanuatu, Radio New Zealand reported. Rita is the first tropical cyclone of the Season 2019-2020. New Zealand is typically affected by one ex-tropical cyclone per year.
