Tremor felt after M4.0 earthquake today in Iloilo city: PHIVOLCS

March 22, 2019: Magnitude 4.0 light earthquake in Philippines triggered tremor in Iloilo today, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported. According to PHIVOLCS, Light intensity III have been felt in Buenavista, Guimaras, Iloilo. No damage or aftershocks have been expected from the earthquake today in Iloilo city.

Magnitude 4.7 earthquake felt in Guwahati and Shillong today

March 21, 2019: Magnitude 4.7 moderate earthquake has been recorded in Meghalaya, India at 08:00 pm. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km, India Meteorological Department reported. The tremor was widely felt across Guwahati and Shillong. People from parts of Bhutan and Bangladesh also reported of weak tremor felt in the border regions. No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported.

BOM: Severe Tropical Cyclone Veronica reaches category four severity

Severe Tropical Cyclone Veronica Forecast Track Map (BOM) March 21, 2019: Severe Tropical Cyclone Veronica has reached a category four severity with major impact for the Pilbara coast likely over the weekend. According to Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), Australia , at 8:00 pm AWST, Tropical Cyclone Veronica was located within 35 kilometres of 17.3 degrees South, 117.3 degrees East , 360 kilometres north northwest of Port Hedland and 385 kilometres north of Karratha. Severe Tropical Cyclone Veronica, a Category 4 system, is moving slowly towards the Pilbara coast. The cyclone should continue its south to southwest track tonight and Friday before taking a more south southeast track on Saturday. Whilst it is possible that the cyclone may weaken before reaching the Pilbara coast, a severe coastal impact is likely, BOM reported. BOM: Tropical Cyclone Trevor prompts emergency in Gulf of Carpentaria

Tropical Cyclone Trevor Forecast Track Map (BOM) March 21, 2019: Authorities have declared a state of emergency in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Australia ahead of the arrival of Tropical Cyclone Trevor. According to Bureau of Meteorology, Australia (BOM), Tropical Cyclone Trevor is located in the eastern Gulf of Carpentaria and is expected to rapidly intensify to a Category 3 system as it moves towards the NT. In the west, Cyclone Veronica is now Cat 4 & tracking towards the Pilbara coast.  Tropical Cyclone Trevor will continue to intensify off the western Peninsula coast as it moves southwest. A severe impact on the southwestern Gulf of Carpentaria coast is likely over the weekend. According to BOM, at 9:30 pm ACST, Tropical Cyclone Trevor was located within 20 kilometres of 13.6 degrees South, 141.1 degrees East, 75 kilometres west southwest of Aurukun and 510 kilometres east of Alyangula. Flash floods in Herat, Afghanistan kill 13

March 20, 2019: Flash floods in western Herat province of Afghanistan has claimed lives of at least 13 people, including women and children. Fatalities include four women and three children from Robat Sangi, Zindajan, Ghoryan, Zawal and Kohzor districts of the province. More than 1,855 houses have been destroyed and 2,841 others are partially damaged in the province, the Afghanistan Times reported. In the beginning of this month, flash floods in Kandahar, the southern Afghanistan claimed lives of 20 people.

Magnitude 5.7 earthquake in Western Turkey injures 3

March 20, 2019: Magnitude 5.7 earthquake has been recorded in Denizli, Western Turkey at 06:34 am, Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute (KOERI) reported. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 5 km. The earthquake was centered in the town of Acipayam, in Denizli province, The government-run Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency said.  Three people have been injured by falling bricks or after jumping from balconies.

No earthquake in Rajapalayam, Tamilnadu today!

Update 8:30 pm Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Authority confirmed that no earthquake has been recorded in Rajapalayam. Officials suspect that blasts in quarries along the ghats could be the reason, The Hindu reported. Update 7:15 pm Three explosion were heard in Rajapalayam area. Tremor along with explosion were heard at 12.10 p.m., 2.45 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. Original Report March 19, 2019: We have received dozens of earthquake felt reports from Rajapalayam of Virudhunagar district of Tamilnadu. Tremor along with explosions were heard in the region. Several people gathered in the open spaces in the fear of tremors in Rajapalayam today. However, India Meteorological Department hasn't mentioned anything about the earthquake in Rajapalayam area on its website. Rajapalayam is a city in Virudhunagar district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Flash flooding in Sentani, Indonesia kills 77

March 18, 2019: At least 77 people have been killed following a flash flood in Sentani, Jayapura, Indonesia. The flash flood occurred after seven-hour torrential downpour. Flash flood has affected 11,725 families in Papua, The National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB) reported. Around 350 houses have been badly destroyed and 211 others in BTN Bintang Timur Sentani are still inundated. The flooding mostly struck the Sentani Kota district, affecting Sentani Kota, Hinekombe and Dobonsolo subdistricts and five villages, Kampung Sereh, Yoboy, Yahim, Yobeh and Ifar Besar, The Jakarta Post reported.

M4.1 earthquake hits Chitlang today - Nepal Seismological Center

March 18, 2019: Magnitude 4.1 earthquake rattled Chitlang today at 09:01 am, Nepal Seismological Center reported. According to the Nepal Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10km. The epicenter was located near Indreni Mushroom Resort Chitlang, Makwanpur.  The tremor was also felt in Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. The tremor lasted for 2-3 seconds. No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported. Last month, magnitude 4.0 earthquake was recorded in Kirtipur . The earthquake was widely across Kathmandu valley.

March 17, 2019: Magnitude 4.0 light earthquake has been recorded in Sikar district of Rajasthan, India at 05:11 am Sunday morning. According to the India Meteorological department, earthquake of magnitude III have been felt in Sikar, Jhunjhunun, Namaul, Dausa and Alwar.  The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10km.  We have dozens of felt reports from Alwar region of Rajsathan.  No damage or injuries have been reported.
