March 3, 2020: A magnitude 4.9 earthquake rattles Zamboanga city today evening.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the quake's epicenter was located 16 km far from Siocon, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.  The temblor was recorded at 10:55 p.m.

Phivolcs said the quake was tectonic in origin and occurred at 34 kilometers depth.

No damage or injuries have been recorded from earthquake in Zamboanga today.
