  • Flood watch in Canberra, Canada
    -Flood watch has been issued for Queanbeyan and Molonglo rivers in Canberra.
    -According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM), a strong southerly change moving up the New South Wales south coast could trigger anywhere between five and 50 millimetres of rain in the Canberra region.

    -Subtropical Storm Alex, in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, south-southwest of the Azores, is only the 2nd tropical storm to form in January since 1851.
    -Alex formed from a system that first developed in the warm waters off the east coast of Florida last week and has tracked eastward across the ocean, gradually becoming stronger and more organized.

Hail storm in Chennai: 3rd time in 5 years

Hail storm hit Ayanavaram, Chennai between 1.30pm and 1.45pm Friday afternoon. Nungambakkam recorded 3.5cm of rain and Meenambakkam 1.1cm, India Meteorological Department said.
