Suriname completes Disaster Management programme in Barbados

Three days orientation programme on the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) System has been conducted for Suriname's National Coordination Centre for Disaster Management (NCCR) staffs in Lower Estate, Barbados.

This disaster management training programme was conducted to increase the understanding of the Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Strategy and Framework and the CDEMA CU approach to supporting national level programming for CDM implementation.

The programme has also allowed the CDEMA team to become more familiar with the national disaster management system of the Participating State, the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) said in a press release issued on October 30, 2015.

The training was supported by the CDEMA Coordinating Unit as a part of its outreach initiatives to CDEMA Participating States.
